Registered Early Childhood Teacher

Gowrie SA is seeking a four year university degree qualified Early Childhood Teacher registered with the South Australian Teacher's Registration Board. The successful applicant will be teaching and leading a team full time in one of Gowrie SA's integrated kindergarten programs to fulfil an initial 12 month maternity leave contract with the possibility of extension. Applicants will be highly experienced in a kindergarten setting and be able to demonstrate knowledge of emergent curriculum, documentation and assessment of children’s learning, pedagogical leadership and relationship based approaches with children aged 3years to school age. The position will commence December 2017. Salary will be aligned with the Preschool Teaching Staff Award. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are warmly encouraged to apply. Gowrie SA – Two Board positions (Honorary)

Gowrie SA (Lady Gowrie Child Centre Inc) has been serving the community for over seventy five years. The organisation is not-for-profit. Our vision is to “work and advocate for the wellbeing and learning of all children, families and educators in our society” which encompasses our work within our children’s programs (integrated preschool and child care), our family support programs and our state-wide professional development and learning programs. Our work includes empowering other education and care services to develop high quality programs for their local communities and in supporting sector wide change, influencing policy and advocacy work. Gowrie SA has worked collaboratively with a range of state and federal government departments in the delivery of early education and family support programs. We also have strong links to the tertiary education sector; and a national presence through collaborative work with Gowrie Centres and professional support providers, as well as international links.

We have two vacancies for Board members. Expressions of interest from community members are invited for these positions within this voluntary Board of Management. Individuals with suitable qualifications and expertise are sought, particularly in areas of organisational and community development, legal or risk management or other relevant skill set desirable for the role. Gowrie SA is committed to Reconciliation and warmly encourages expressions of interest from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The commitment you would need to make includes:
* Attending Board meetings approximately every 6 weeks
* Attending an Annual General Meeting
* Contributing at sub-committee level.
