Supporting young children who have experienced trauma

This session is designed for educators who work with children who have experienced trauma. We will discuss and learn how trauma affects the brain, as well as learn behaviour support techniques that you can use as a tool box to help de-escalate a child who may be triggered and experiencing pain based behaviours. We will also discuss how overwhelming it might be as an educator to work with children displaying pain based behaviour and offer some strategies to build your confidence in responding to young children who have experienced trauma.
