This six part series of sessions will introduce you to learning Kaurna language and to understand the essential protocols for Kaurna language use (both old and new language). Content will include Kaurna words for greetings, colours, body parts, special occasions and developing an Acknowledgement of Country. The sessions provide the opportunity to learn and build confidence in Kaurna language and pronunciation through role play, repetition and practice. The session cost includes a welcome pack with the Kaurna dictionary and common phrases/words to take back to your service to practise.
Uncle Tamaru Smith is a Kaurna and Narrunga Elder and through his consultancy business ‘Deadly Mob’ provides Kaurna cultural knowledge passed to him through generations of Elders.
